I also have this kind of problem. Each time I announce "yeah, it works !", I
discover two days later that I still have problems. The problem is simple :
404 error to and from gmail.com jabber contacts.

I experience this problem from time to time without any noticable pattern.
It's definitely DNS related because some of my hosted domains work, some not
and it changes. (all domains have the exact same configuration on the
server, in bind, in Ejabberd and at the registar).
