I don't care if users chat. I just don't need them responding to messages from the server. I want to be able to send a message from the server though at will. Motd will only send an initial message at login. I'm not trying to use it as a traditional chat application. What I envision is that I can use jabber to send results of some processes that I am running on the server to a list of users. The process themselves or a wrapper would send the message. -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Peter Saint-Andre Sent: Tuesday, April 21, 2009 7:11 PM To: Jabber/XMPP server administration list Subject: Re: [jadmin] How to send message from server -----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 On 4/21/09 4:50 PM, Matt Peterson wrote: > I just installed jabber 1.4.2 for the purpose of sending messages to a > small list of users. You can send a message to all the user using the "motd" feature. However, that will not prevent users from chatting with each other.
