How to verify jabberd2 is runing correctly?

Hi,
I recently install jabberd2 on ubuntu.
i install sever from source as root.

when i use "/usr/local/bin/jabberd -D" its does not seem any error.

so i think the server start fine. but how can i verify that.
how can i verify the server is runing with no problem ?
