Issue with c2s jumping to 100% CPU

I am running jabberd on server and using it for text and photo chat.  I 
am having a problem that jabberd stops working 2-3 times a day.   It 
stops working when c2s takes up over 95-100% of the server CPU.   It 
quickly jumps to that level from around 1%.  Once I restart jabberd 
everything works again.

Any ideas on what I can do to fix this issue?

Is there anything we should look for in the logs, or any additional 
logging levels that we can activate to determine the issue?
