I would like to connect s2s to Gmail via TLS

I have installed a few ejabberd server.  I find that I can establish s2s
connection between 2 domains I administer.  But I cannot figure out why
between my ejabberd servers and gmail server TLS isn't used; I observe these
by reading the ejabberd log files.

Does gmail not use TLS for s2s?  Googling shows that in the past people have
trouble connecting to gmail s2s because gmail requires TLS and they could
connect to gmail without TLS.  My case is opposite in that I want TLS s2s
and gmail is not wanting to do TLS with my server.
My users can chat with gmail account fine despite lack of TLS though

If my TLS s2s setup is wrong then it is just right so that two of my domains
can talk to each other.  I have tried both homemade ssl certificates as well
certs signed by godday.

Any suggestions/hints will be very appreciated.
