I have figured out how to set Environment variables within the NSIS installer http://nsis.sourceforge.net/archive/viewpage.php?pageid=137
However, I am not able to set that environment variable in the Branding.xml file so that it looks for the files where they have been installed using the variable I defined (e.g., exodus_home).
For example,
<brand_help_url_list>
<s> file:///${exodus_home}/help.html<s>
</brand_help_url_list>
Can this even be done? Does branding.xml file allow for the calling of environment variables?
Thanks in advance,
J...........

Ok, I thought that would be part of the answer.
But how do I set the URL to be where the Client files are stored. A user has the OPTION of specifying a different Installation directory besides the default. Therefore, If I hard-code the URL to the default installation directory (file:///c/foo....) then the help will not work if the user chooses another directory during the installation.

use a URL like file:///c:/foo, and add the html files to the installer with the File directive.
then write some help. :)

Subject: [Exodus-dev] Branding - Help-File versus Help-URL
I've tried using the branding capabilities of the client and am impressed - it has worked nicely so far.
One of the things I'd like to do is be able to install HELP FILES locally with the client. The branding capabilities allows me to CHANGE the URL to get help information. Is there a way to have it point to a File? My assumption is possibly but I'm unsure how to go about it - like, how does the client know where Exodus has been installed, etc...
Thanks,
J
