Hi, everybody:
Probably most of you have already realized that the Exodus installer is
also translateable since it's move to NSIS 2.0.
A series of hooks have been set in the scripts that generate the
installer to allow the translation of the options and selections, that
are still appearing in English (well, except for pt_PT ;) ).
Joe Hildebrand, has added a comment in CVS requesting that translators
update the plugin related stuff. Since some may just have a direct link
to download the "default.po" the request may pass unnoticed, so here it
is.
In each of the plugins dirs under
<http://www.jabberstudio.org/cgi-bin/viewcvs.cgi/exodus/exodus/plugins/>
there is a "plugin-info.nsh" file that has the translations (it's one
file for all translations).
(Joe: by the way the IRC plugin is lacking the "plugin-info.nsh" file.)
For convenience, here are the English strings to translate (they are
just 2 for each plugin). For all of you that don't want to deal with the
CVS system, just post the translations for your language to the list
(like you have been doing with the "default.po") and I'll commit them to
CVS for you.
For those who want to translate all the strings in the installer system
the file that has the translations is
<http://www.jabberstudio.org/cgi-bin/viewcvs.cgi/*checkout*/exodus/exodu
s/locale-new.nsh>. Just edit it and replace ${i18n_MSG_*_EN} in each of
your language entries with the translation (have a look at the PT_PT
strings for an example). I suggest using WRITE or WORDPAD since NOTEPAD
won't convert the Unix strings to DOS format. After translating the
strings you can just do the same as for the plugins translations and
send the file to the list and I'll update the CVS for you.
The plugin strings:
- --8<--
AIM-Import:
1. "ImportAIM" (you may use more than one word, for instance "Import
AIM")
2. "Import contacts from AOL Instant Messenger."
ASpeller:
1. "Aspell" (same as above)
2. "A spell checker that uses aspell (http://aspell.net/win32), which
needs to be downloaded seperately."
ICQ-Import:
1. "ImportICQ" (and again)
2. "Import contacts from your local ICQ installation."
JabberStats:
1. "JabberStats" (and also the same)
2. "Create a tab delimited file (in a directory like C:\Documents and
Settings\username\Application Data\Exodus) with to, from, type,
namespace, date/time, and size for each packet."
MSWordSpeller:
1. "WordSpeller" (et coetera...)
2. "An attempt at a spell checker that uses Microsoft Word. Use at your
own peril."
NetMeeting:
1. "NetMeeting" (et coetera...)
2. "Initiate and receive invitations to NetMeeting sessions."
RosterTools:
1. "RosterTools" (...ad nauseum)
2. "Export and import your roster to your local filesystem."
- -->8--
Cheers,
