Joe,

Thanks for all your help. I researched your NSIS FileOpen and FileWrite command recommendation to write out the branding file as you suggested. I finally got it to work.

I used the script found in the NSIS archives for "Text File Manipulation" (http://nsis.sourceforge.net/archive/nsisweb.php?page=319&instances=0,311) with minor tweaks.

The hardest part that I encountered (being newbie to NSIS) was figuring out how to concatenate strings in order to create the File URL that I needed (inclusive of the installDir). It took me all day but I finally figured it out by researching the forums and finding the following info on concatenting strings using StrCpy command:

Strcpy $MYSTRING "sometext $MYSTRING1 $MYSTRING2"

I wanted to share this information/experience in case anyone else needs to do something similar.

You should be able to use NSIS's FileOpen and FileWrite commands to
write out a branding file with $INSTDIR, which, in the installer, has
the directory the user chose to install into.
