Alternative message dialog

Hi,

I was wondering if there exist alternative message dialogs?

What I'm looking for is twofold:

1. (and main) To change the text log til be more like we know from the icq
programs. Each message preceeded by a single like with the name and the
date, so that the message itself starts in the beginning of a line. (I
find it irritating to read message over a few words which start in the
middle of a line and wraps to the next. Also "pre formated text" is
impossible to read.

2. (mostly visual) To have a 'cool' communication dialog which includes a
Send button (and an ALT+S shortcut). I'm actually fine with the current
way, but getting less computer savey people to use Exodus will, for me,
depend on the simplicity of it's use.

2.5 (yea I did say twofold, but this is also visual) Having a simple way
to click and get icons/smilies inserted into to text. I know that less
computer savey people can only remember two or three smilies, but would
happily click on 10 different smilies.

Any thoughts or tips?
