I wasn't aware that there were multiple methods. What determines the method used? I don't see that in the options. Is this dependant on other things such as what jabber server I am using or perhaps what client the other person is using? This is a small setup with jabberd 1.4.3 and all clients are Exodus. I suppose I could just enable both ports that you mentioned but now I am curious > file transfers. The other solution would be to run a JEP-65 proxy on your SuSE > box (there is one written in Python + Twisted available at > http://jabberstudio.org/projects/proxy65/project/view.php). Sounds interesting. Would this mean that I would have to use only that one from the two you mentioned? I am guessing that the answer to that is yes but as I mentioned above, I don't know how the transfer method is selected. Damon Register
