Notification sounds stopped working

Since I upgraded to Exodus v0.9.1, my notification
sounds have stopped working. They were working in
0.9.0 and earlier versions.  I've uninstalled and
reinstalled 0.9.1 three times--still no luck. I've
even reinstalled the older v0.9.0 and found that
sounds no longer work in that. The Exodus
notifications options is set to use sounds and a .wav
file is selected. I've even gone into Control Panel
and turned on a sound for every single Exodus event.
Yes, my speakers are on and I can hear other Windows
XP sounds. Anyone have any suggestions?
