Visual notification infos

Hi to all!
TX for this great IM client, but I'm newbie to this and I don't know the
whole features.

Does anybody know if it is possible to use an external software to notify
activity in a chat room, or is there a plugin to do so?

Es: because I need a visual notification very visible from people far from
the PC monitor, I think a screensaver launcher.
