I need to contact the iChat developers about their support for what we call "STARTTLS" -- the ability to bootstrap port 5222 from unencrypted to encrypted. As far as I know, every other major IM client already supports that. It would be a shame if we prevented iChat users from accessing the jabber.org service when we turn off the SSL-only port 5223. > all I have to do > now is find someone using iChat. > Can a PC user connect to me some how i.e. with an AIM / Yes, we don't care what operating system or device you use, so someone using Mac OS can chat with someone using Windows or a mobile device or whatever. However, the jabber.org service does not include gateways to AIM or any of those legacy IM services. If you want that functionality, I recommend that you use a multi-protocol client like Adium. (Yes, you can connect to AIM users from Jabber, but it's not so easy.) Peter _______________________________________________ This is JUser -- a mailing list for end users of Jabber clients.
