GTalk / jabber.org auth requests

I'm having problems adding Google Talk users to my jabber.org
account... is this a known issue? I notice on the jabber.org main
page, as of August 4th, there is a message about connectivity issues -
but the post doesn't describe my problem, exactly. I'm able to get
presence notifications from (and chat with) existing Google Talk
accounts that I already had in my roster. I just can't add any new
ones...

Has anyone else experienced this problem?
