To accomodate this feeling, DejaNews agreed to honour a header line of the form X-No-Archive: Yes by not adding such articles to their archive. When Google swallowed DejaNews that practice continued for some years, but at some point Google chose (without asking anyone or paying attention to complaints) to include those articles in their archive, but to remove them from the public display (in the Google Groups web forum portal to usenet) after a few days. No-one else has ever felt obliged to do anything about that header. -- -- ^^^^^^^^^^ -- Whiskers -- ~~~~~~~~~~
