​What happened was that I migrated from an openSUSE system to a Debian
system. I installed it myself on the openSUSE system. (When I started using
it there was not a package for it. This was more as five years ago.) Debian
has a package for it and installed it. The /etc/leafnode was from my old
machine and the /etc/news/leafnode from Debian.

​To run that you need to suspect that there is more as one config file. ;-)

I hope that I will see the light sooner next time.
