Well, the idea is that you only have to maintain one source set
(package) and it automatically generate the packages for several
distribution. If it works it should save you time. I have heard some say
that it works.

There is a package mail list where you can ask. I can't help you, the
OBS is like an obscure art to me. I have at the very end of my ToDo list
to learn that thing.
