Redirecting /usr/bin/editor to alternative is the Debian-only way of
picking among a list of editors. However, the usage of $EDITOR is much
more platform neutral. I'd suggest no change at all for lftp, and
concerned users set EDITOR=/usr/bin/editor so that both worlds would
be happy.
