Looks like you are not in the directory where gd was untarred at. When I run configure, I am in the libgd-2.1.0 directory that was created when I untarred the tgz file. [mrtg@nldanms-1 libgd-2.1.0]$ pwd /opt/src/tgz/libgd-2.1.0 [mrtg@nldanms-1 libgd-2.1.0]$ ./configure checking build system type... x86_64-unknown-linux-gnu checking host system type... x86_64-unknown-linux-gnu checking for a BSD-compatible install... /usr/bin/install -c checking whether build environment is sane...
