We are very happy to announce the availability of the new GM release,
gm-1.5_Linux, which supports linux 2.4. This release can be obtained from:
http://www.myri.com:80/scs/linux.html
In addition, there is a new Tru64 release, downloadable from:
http://www.myri.com:80/scs/tru64.html
The GM for Linux will work on Linux x86 (ia32/ia64) and Alpha platforms,
and it supports large memory configurations.
The GM for Tru64 fixes several serious bugs - please upgrade
immediately if you are running on Tru64.
Along with this release, we have a new web page http://www.myri.com/scs
filled with lots of information, as well as a newly expanded and
updated FAQ (http://www.myri.com/scs/GM_FAQ.html) and README files,
and a new Installation Guide for Myricom's Myrinet Software running
on Linux.
Please do check the README and README-linux files for configuration
instructions (now easier) and caveats for specific operating
systems and architectures.
In addition, we would like to encourage you to try the newest mpich-over-gm
release:
ftp://ftp.myri.com/pub/MPICH-GM/mpich-1.2.1..7.tar.gz
(or from the http://www.myri.com/scs page).
The mpich release does not yet support Solaris.
We expect to add this functionality very soon.
Please read the README-GM for new runtime options, and functionality
which has been added to this mpich implementation.
