Dear Myrinet users,
GM-1.6.3 for Linux has been officially released. :-)
http://www.myri.com/scs/linux.html
GM-1.6.3 includes the following enhancements:
* Dramatically improved bidirectional bandwidth.
* Shared library support to facilitate future upgrades
for customers who choose to use the shared libraries.
* A revised installation procedure to better support NFS
shared installations and non-root installations.
* Improved support for auto-loading GM drivers at boot
time with conventional /etc/init.d and /etc/rc.d
start/stop scripts.
Performance graphs for GM 1.6.3 can be found at the following
webpage:
http://www.myri.com/myrinet/performance/
Refer to the CHANGES file for details of the changes from
gm-1.5.2.1 to gm-1.6.3.

The installation procedure for GM has changed significantly between
gm-1.5.2.1 and gm-1.6.3. Automated installation scripts will need
to be updated.
Abbreviated installation instructions are on the aforementioned
Linux download page. Instructions can also be found in
the README-linux.
Refer to the FAQ entry
http://www.myri.com/scs/faq/faq-mpich-gm.html#mpich2a
for details of configuring MPICH-GM to use the GM shared
library.
Updated performance graphs for MPICH-GM using GM 1.6.3
can be found at the following webpage:

P.S. We are incrementally upgrading all of the OS-specific
drivers to 1.6.3. GM 1.6.3 for Mac OS X is currently
available, and the drivers for Windows, Solaris,
Tru64, FreeBSD, and IRIX will be available soon.
Feel free to contact us if you have any questions.
Sincerely,
