So you are saying that you can do this: rsh `hostname` /bin/hostname without a password, and mpirun still fails? Does this work as well: rsh localhost /bin/hostname You aren't specifying a machinefile; can you make sure you can rsh to the machines listed in PREFIX/share/machines.ch_gm.LINUX (name will be different if not on Linux), and PREFIX is wherever you installed mpich; it should be the same as in your BUILD_DIR/util/machines/FILE Kevin -----Original Message----- From: Valmor de Almeida [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: Tuesday, July 29, 2003 6:03 PM To: [email protected] Subject: [Myrinet] connection refused Hello list, I am getting the "connection refused" error message when running cd <install_directory>/mpich-1.2.5..10/examples mpirun.ch_gm -np x cpi no matter what value of x (even 1). I used the mpich.make.gcc script with setenv RSHCOMMAND rsh to compile the mpich-gm mpich-1.2.5..10 library. The .rhosts file allows all machines to login remotely without asking for a password. Inputs are appreciated. Thanks, -- Valmor de Almeida ORNL _______________________________________________ Myrinet mailing list [email protected] http://email.osc.edu/mailman/listinfo/myrinet
