It's possible that the processes are running on the wrong nodes as Craig
noted. Add the "-v" flag to mpirun.ch_gm and send us the output to see
if they are spawned to the right nodes.

Another possibility is a more obscure GM lib/driver incompatibility
(which seem unlikely from your gm_board_info output). You can use strace
and see the return code of gm_open() but it's not very easy to do.
