Another good place to search for information is the Myrinet FAQ 
(http://www.myri.com/scs/FAQ/).  If you search for the keyword "Unable" 
in the Myrinet FAQ, you'll find the following FAQ entry.

As Rayson suggested, check the output of gm_board_info for BUSY GM ports.

Which version of GM are you using?
