check_mysql usage

Hello,

I would like to monitor mysql on several shared servers. The idea is if 
the database server starts looping or a table is corrupted that the 
monitoring script will send us a warning or critical error. I'm 
wondering if check_mysql does this. Can you provide me detailed 
information on how check_mysql functions?
