testar conexão entre 2 clients

Pessoal,

outra duvida (desculpem a encheção...), há como testar se 2 clients estão se 
comunicando?

[Servidor_Nagios]-------{internet}------[Client1]--[Client2]

O nagios consegue monitorar os 2 clients, mas eu queria saber como proceder para 
monitorar a conexão entre o Client1 e Client2, se eles estão comunicando entre 
si, um teste de ping ja resolveria... mas como fazer isso no nagios?
