Scenario:

np-distd is started with "service net-policy start".
GUI is used to create a host that is the same as the
server.
np-distd crashes whether it is run as root or nobody.

np-distd runs normally if it is run in the foreground.

What follows is a stack trace of the crash:

net-policy, and got yet another stack trace:
