I'm sorry for your troubles...  We'd would be happy to see if we can
help you get it running, however.  np-install doesn't have a huge
amount of testing by a lot of people, so it is possible you've hit a
bug.  However, it shouldn't lock up at any point!  Are you watching
the console as well I hope?  IE, when you said it hangs, is it really
hanging at the point in question or is it just busy doing things
(getting the DB running and the like)?

Also, could you let us know the details of the platform you're running
it on?  Linux?  What version/flavor?
