I have a situation where the pass persist scripts take some time to run due to the size of the custom mibs it needs to generate. When pass persist script gets started by snmpd, the external query (snmpwalk for example) would time out. To get around this issue I was thinking to let snmpd start the pass_persist scripts during snmpd initialization. To do this, snmpd would query the custom mibs served by the pass persist script internally just to get the pass persist script started. I am new the net-snmp and not familiar with the net-snmp code base and not sure if the proposed solution is feasible. Any help would be appreciated.
