Adding appropriate debug flags at the agent and client side will probably provide a better insight in what's going on. Flags that probably will yield interesting information are -d and -D netsnmp_udp_parse_security,netsnmp_udp6_parse_security,netsnmp_unix_parse_security,tls,tsm.
