RE: Interface down - Solaris 8

On a UltraAX-i2 it just reports it as down.
Is there a problem with the 5.2.1.2 package?
Should I use and earlier version? 

Again ifAdminStatus (1.3.6.1.2.1.2.2.1.7) reports correctly
