I believe this is due to the tests using an old (and now obsolete)
command option for specifying the PID file.  The warning message
confuses the test harness.

The current CVS code (all lines) has been fixed to use the correct
PID option, so tests should work properly with future releases.

No - it's purely down to using '-P' instead of '-p'
Nothing more significant than that.
