traphandler does not work

Hello again I'm trying to use snmptrapd on Debian-Linux. The Linux-system should catch traps from my cisco 3600, what works fine. I see incoming traps in my log-file using the command snmptrapd -L f /var/log/snmptrap.log -C -c /etc/snmp/snmptrapd.conf -On cool, so far... In my snmptrapd.conf there is only one line: traphandle default echo \"Arrived\" >> /tmp/trap.log that does not work! My first thought was, there might be something wrong with the Quotationmarks, but using a command like: touch /tmp/somefile.txt shows no reaction either. All folders and files are writable to anyone- I gave the chmod 777 for testing. I have the bad feeling, snmptrapd simply ignores my conf-file.
