passtest on 5.1.2.11

Running passtest on Centos or RHEL(net snmp-5.1.2.11) fails

Looking at the log file you can see

	handler:calling: calling handler old_api for mode GET

	trace: var_extensible_pass(): ucd-snmp/pass.c, 284:

	ucd-snmp/pass: pass-running:  /bin/sh /etc/snmp/passtest -g
.1.3.6.1.4.1.2021.255.1
	read: Permission denied

the permissions of the file are wide open and the script runs ok from the
command line

I have tried this on two machines with identical results

We have an extensive snmp based monitoring and alerting system with hundreds
of monitors, which works well. This is our first attempt to write
application level monitoring via snmp

Does anyone have any ideas?
