That would definitely be sensible.
I believe that there's been a fair bit of work done on 64-bit
support since the 5.0.x line (and 5.0.9 is over two years old)
So it's quite possible that problem has already been fixed.

The latest stable version is 5.2.2.rc2 (which will be released
as the full 5.2.2 very shortly).   If that code still suffers
from the same problem, then it would be useful to known ASAP
(ideally with a patch to fix it :-)).  We're gearing up to
release the next new version (5.3) soon after 5.2.2, so there's
a limited window for getting last-minute patches in before then.
