Questions in _access function

Dear ALL,
     In xxTable_get_first_data_point() function,
     What is the following variable used to do?
  
     *my_loop_context
     *my_data_context
     put_index_data

     I really can't figure out the comments.
     In this function,is there anything I need to 
     do here?

     The same questions in
     xxTable_get_next_data_point() function.

    Can somebody explain for me?
