Too many files

I have not found this one in the archives, so I am posting it to the list.

I am running Mandriva 2006 with net-snmp-5.2.1.2-4mdk.  I noticed this 
week that there failures occurring with snmp communications after some 
period of time.  Here is a sample of the failures I have encountered.

 grep "Nov 14 18:3" /var/log/syslog | grep snmp | more
Nov 14 18:30:33 ns3 snmpd[5064]: Connection from UDP: [xx.xx.xx.xx]:49495

 open files

Nov 14 18:31:33 ns3 snmpd[5064]: Connection from UDP:

Any ideas or suggestions?
