Actually, if I can make a minor correction to that statement.

A "pre-parse" fail means that the processing failed *before*
trying to parse the request - i.e. in the pre-parse validation.

<sigh - Note to self:  *think* before answering questions!>


In the case of the agent, this refers to the routine
netsnmp_agent_check_packet(), which is basically checking
the 'hosts.allow' and 'hosts.deny' settings.

Assuming that the two Net-SNMP installations are using identical
binaries, I'd suggest you look at /etc/hosts.{allow,deny} on
the two system.
