How to use configuration parameter(serverRecvBuf)

Hi All,
          I need help with configuration parameter "serverRecvBuf"  with
version 5.2.1. When do we use this?
          Will this affect the trap handling capacity of snmptrapd. What
would be an ideal value for this if
          I have to recieve large number of traps around 1000/sec.
