ok , here are the details:
- I'm using net-snmp-5.3
- my configure file:
--------------------------------------------------------------------
#!/bin/tcsh
./configure --with-mib-modules="agentx" \
--enable-mini-agent \
--disable-debugging \
--without-kmem-usage \
--------------------------------------------------------------------
- my environment MIBS varibale is set to "" (empty string)
NOTES:
* the --disable-mib-loading does not work, I get an error in Make (see
different mail of mine in the users mailing list)
* 'strip snmpd' does not reduce memory usage.
Now the total virtual memory usage is 5.8 MB (1.9 Resident, 1.4 Shared,
rest is swapped)
Questions:
1) What is --without-kmem-usage ?
2) How much more could I expect to be able to reduce Memory usage? (down
to 2MB, 1MB?)
3) How can I reduce it more?
4) When I was using net-snmp 5.2.1.2, setting MIBS='' (instead of
MIBS=ALL), reduced the memory usage by 2.5 MB.
In net-snmp-5.3 it reduces the memory usage by only 0.4 MB?
What explains the major difference? (are there different default
MIBs?)
Thank,
Erez.

Which particular suggestions have you adopted?
Are you saying that a "mini-agent" is still using over
> Can it be reduced even more?
It would be easier to answer that if we knew what you'd done so far.
