Failed to connect to agentx master agent v5.3.0.1

Hello,
      Could you help me with the following problem?
      1. snmpd v5.3.0.1 (master) is running;
      2. start running my subagent
      3. repeatedly got the following  messages:
      Failed to connect to agentx master agent  (/var/agentx/master): Uknown host.
  I looked into /var/agentx/master. It’s empty. I tried to run  snmpd with –x 127.0.0.1:161 and subagent with –x 127.0.0.1:161. It doesn’t  help.
      I would greatly appreciate your help,
