Re: snmptrapd with increasing memory usage on RHEL 4

first let me thank for you explanation, that make it
quite more understandable.

I built now a own rpm with disabled sub agent and
that helps.

Turning this of without compiling sound interesting
but it didn't work for me, I already tried this with
the rpm found on the download page (net-snmp-5.3-1.el4.i386.rpm 
<http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/net-snmp/net-snmp-5.3-1.el4.i386.rpm>)
but it did still consume increasing memory.

Maybe I used the wrong options.
An snmptrapd -H didn't give me a hint whit
what option I could disable the subagent

What I tried was starting the snmptrapd with
the additional option --disable-snmptrapd-subagent.
But this didn't fix the problem with the memory increasing.

Which option do I have to use to disable the agent
without rebuilding the package?
