Sorry if I sound ignorant but I'm still trying to get my head around
this. What I would like to know if there is an easy way to compile in
the Nagios MIBs into the net-snmp package similar to the way I was able
to compile in the DISMAN MIBs like I did below:

 --prefix=/opt/snmp '--with-transports=UDPIPv6 TCPIPv6' \
         '--with-mib-modules=host disman/event-mib ucd-snmp/diskio smux
agentx mibII/mta_sendmail'

I found a section in the FAQ the described How to add the MIB to the
Agent
http://www.net-snmp.org/FAQ.html#How_do_I_add_a_MIB_to_the_agent_

But its just not working for me. I'm hoping there is a new package out
there that already has this done for Nagios similar to the way it "just
worked" when I used "--with-mib-modules=host disman/event-mib" as a
compile time option.

There's no such thing as "nagios mib modules". Nagios makes use of
standard mib modules as shipped with recent net-snmp releases. A
net-snmp 5.3.0.1 binary package, available on
http://www.net-snmp.org/download , should cover everything you need.
