problems with subagents and tcpwrappers

Hello,

I have a coworker trying to get a subagent working with net-snmp. He's
having issues.

# rpm -qa | grep snmp
net-snmp-5.2.1.2-FC3.1
net-snmp-libs-5.2.1.2-FC3.1
net-snmp-perl-5.2.1.2-FC3.1
net-snmp-utils-5.2.1.2-FC3.1

Here's what I'm seeing:

/etc/hosts.allow entry:

snmpd: 127.0.0.1 10.33.0.0/255.255.0.0 10.39.17.0/255.255.255.0

****************
My machine is on the 10.33.0.0 sub net and I can walk the mib tree until I
hit the mitel subagent (remotely coupled). Then this error appears:

initialize_table_mitelAppTable
mitelAgent is up and running.
Connection from <UNKNOWN> REFUSED
Connection from <UNKNOWN> REFUSED
Connection from <UNKNOWN> REFUSED
Connection from <UNKNOWN> REFUSED
Connection from <UNKNOWN> REFUSED
Connection from <UNKNOWN> REFUSED
Connection from <UNKNOWN> REFUSED
Connection from <UNKNOWN> REFUSED

If I change /etc/hosts.allow to:

snmpd: ALL: ALLOW

then I can walk the full table.

The subagent is on the same box, so the localhost entry in hosts.allow
should be sufficient, should it not?

Thanks,
Mike
