Distributing an agent for standard redhat distro's question.

I wrote an agent that runs as a .so under snmpd using net-snmp 5.2.1 for development. Now I want users who are running standard redhat RH4 distributions (that has net-snmp 5.1.2 installed by default) to be able to use my agent. Being lazy, I don't want to have to back-port my code to 5.1.2. There's a lot of 5.2ism's in my code, so it's non-trivial. I also don't want users to have to download the latest net-snmp and compile from source. Is there a easy way out of this dilemma that I'm not seeing?
