Peeps, Im new to the old snmptrapd routine and want to simply allow a trap from switches up / down state etc to email me.. Im pretty sure its gotta be in the run time options and snmptrapd.conf that its wrong because it never logs a trap yet. I like most others started with a simple traphandle default /usr/local/bin/sendamail.sh in my snmptrapd.conf on fedora core 5 and upon starting snmptrapd got service snmptrapd start wally snmptrapd[1484]: Warning: no access control information configured. This receiver will *NOT* accept any incoming notifications. So it wont even accept traps. I added: disableAuthorization yes to my snmptrapd.conf and it starts ok Now I send an snmptrap to it and NOTHING happens. Please help me as to what I am missing. my startup options as set by fedora core 5 are /usr/sbin/snmptrapd -Lsd -p /var/run/snmptrapd.pid Help Much appreciated.
