netSNMP and use in safety sensitive applications

I have a project that will be using SNMP for the Monitoring and Control of the ground assets (computers, operating systems and applications). We have specified that we will use netSNMP as the kernel of the M&C application. A few commands have been deemed by our customer to be safety sensitive (I use this phrase to differentiate it from safety critical, as in airbourne systems) - these commands must not be accidently generated or created with the wrong information in them). Personally I think v3 probably offers adequate protection but our customer is not yet convinced. Does anyone know of applications where netSNMP has been deployed for any degree of safety related Monitoring & Control application? I don't need to be able to quote any secret applications by name, just to know if it has been used. Clearly non secret projects I would like to quote by name but not necessarily. Or does anyone know of any other SNMP library that can be used for safety related applications? I know WindRiver includes a SNMP Agent. I think it is also extensible but not sufficiently so for our purposes.
