Dear Dave, I have problem to access the mailing list recently. Would you mind to reply to the mailist and cc me also? thanks after i read your replied, I can successfully to receive the coldstart trap in my SNMP Manager PC.(i think it means i had correctly configured SNMPv3 user and access right, is it correct?) However I met a problem to trigger LinkUpDownTrap to my SNMP Manager. The Problem program seem don't triggger the trap when I made some the link down physically. Here are the changes i did: rather than using "linkupdownnotifications yes", i used the following statement which is copy from manual of snmpd.conf. " monitor -e linkDownTrap "Generate linkDown" ifOperStatus ==2 " I removed the "-r 60" option as I dun want the program report me the LinkStatus periodically, I want to configure the program send me trap/report only when it the LinkStatus. Am I config it wrong? or anythings missing? here are part of my log generate by command "snmpd -D" ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- disman:event:table: Create trigger entry (snmpd.conf, Generate linkDown) disman:event:trigger:monitor: Running trigger (Generate linkDown) disman:event:fire: Event fired (snmpd.conf, linkDownTrap) ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Thanks Donald ----- Original Message ----- From: "Dave Shield" <[email protected]> To: "Donald Tse" <[email protected]> Cc: <[email protected]> Sent: Wednesday, June 21, 2006 5:27 PM Subject: Re: > [ First - *please* don't mail me privately, without copying > any responses to the mailing list.
