Proxy issue

I've got an issue with snmp proxies. I'm using net-snmp 5.0.9... in my snmpd.conf I have: proxy -v 1 -c public localhost:3401 .1.3.6.1.4.1.3495.1 I can do an: snmpwalk -v 1 -c public localhost:3401 .1.3.6.1.4.1.3495.1 and I get the expected data (squid snmp output). But if I do: snmpwalk -v 2c -c xxxxxx localhost .1.3.6.1.4.1.3495.1 I get a timeout... Any ideas? Using Tomcat but need to do more? Need to support web services, security?
