Hi all,

Having a few issues with using Net-snmp on Mac OS 10.4.6......

The basic Mac OS 10.4.6 comes with Net-snmp v5.2.1. I have successfully
downloaded, compiled and installed the latest version (v5.3.0.1) from the
website to the Xserve running Mac OS 10.4.6 using darwinports, restarted
etc. However, running the snmpd v command from Terminal shows the server is
still running v5.2.1! Why is this, and how can I make Mac OS X see the
latest version of net-snmp?

Another issue I¹m seeing (and the reason I wanted to update the snmp
version) was that when using SolarWinds Network Performance Monitor to query
the Xserves looking at disk usage and memory caused the snmpd daemon to
use 99% of the Xserve usage, only curable by manually killing the daemon.
Any thoughts on this?

Many thanks for any thoughts in advance,

Cheers.
Jeremy.
